The Android version of the new Office would appear before the end of the year, while the Windows version in the spring of 2015 is expected. The iPad has a touch screen version of Office available.

The Windows version of the new Office appears likely in conjunction with a major update to the operating system , which then may get called Windows 9. There would be a version of Windows without appearing desktop mode.

Windows 8 already has a special tablet version called Windows RT, but it is a desktop still available, including to use Office. The Office versions for computers with keyboard and mouse according ZDNet also updated early 2015.
