Makers fake Android Apps indicted in U.S. - Nutech

The U.S. Department of Justice has indicted four men for copying Android Apps, and then sell them in alternative app stores.

The four men were charged in two separate indictments, according to the press release.

The first indictment against the 22-year-old Kody Jon Peterson, who along with others would be at the SnappzMarket Group involved. Between May 2011 and August 2012 Peterson apps would have copied more than one million copies were downloaded.

The other three men, Dye, 21years, Narbone, 26, and Pace, 38, are responsible for the app store Appbucket. They would also be responsible for more than one million downloads of pirated apps.

All four men are accused, including for rent and running of servers, showing the websites www.snappzmarket.com and www.appbucket.net where illegal apps could be downloaded. The maximum penalty that the men will meet for five years.
