large 5 inch Sony Xperia S which released in February this year was mainly advertised as waterproof. This functionality is a keeper for Sony, because this week announced the Xperia Z1 is dustproof and waterproof.
The first improvement that stands near the headphone jack. To keep dust and water out of the phone are the inputs for microSD card, sim card and USB port valves fitted.
The Xperia S also had such cover on the headphone jack, was a bit tricky if you wanted to plug in headphones quickly. The Z1 is therefore cover disappeared, yet the device still as waterproof.
Housing
The rest of the housing of the Xperia Z1 looks identical to the Z. Seems, because Sony has for the first milled the outer edge of the device completely from a single piece of aluminum.
The corners of the phone are taking more rounded, making the device just as comfortable in the hand. The Xperia Z1 feels as sturdy and solid as its predecessor, and also sleek tempered glass front and back.

the bottom right is also a shutter button on the unit. If you hold down, the camera starts up, or the screen is locked or you are in the app as well.
Photography
This button makes it immediately clear that the Xperia Z1 photography takes quite seriously. The shutter button works the same as those on ‘real’ cameras. By pressing the button halfway, the camera focuses, dodging and the picture is taken.
Xperia Z1 has a 20.7-megapixel camera with a sharp 1/2.3 inch sensor. That format sensor also is in Sony’s compact cameras, though this copy specially designed for the Z1.
In the development of the Z1 is even more borrowed the camera division of Sony. Thus there is a Bionz image processor in the phone and the device has a 27 millimeter wide.

Sharp and fast
Sony was never really in the past few years the leading group in the speed of smartphones are concerned. Not anymore, the Xperia Z1 is a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon chip 800, assisted by 2GB of RAM.
Like other devices with that chip, like the LG G2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, is also the Xperia Z1 rapidly. Or fast chip has a large impact on the battery life will only appear after prolonged testing. The Xperia Z1 is at least equipped with a large battery with 3000 mAh capacity.
Preliminary conclusion
Sony clearly shows the Xperia Z1 that its smartphone division into a higher gear. The unit can easily in all areas along with the competition and a half years after the Xperia S already a decent upgrade.
This makes all the more curious how the screen, the battery life, the Snapdragon processor 800 and above the 20.7-megapixel camera with wide angle lens taking in a review against the competitor.
