Opinion I went from a desktop PC to an Android tablet and am not planning to switch back. You can too.

one hundred percent I work on Android devices. Even in the office, I can fully with my Nexus 7 from the feet. Despite my love for Linux distributions for desktop PCs, I have no plans to switch to a PC or laptop back. The ability to do everything for me completely mobile weighs much heavier than the perks offered by a traditional desktop.

I’d like to show you how I got this new ideal and realized how my tablet commitment to tasks that I previously carried out with the PC.

Let’s start at the beginning: Using an Android tablet for your daily work is difficult without using a physical keyboard. The virtual touch keyboard works fine to move quickly to do something, but if you really want to start something (writing, programming or something else), then you need. Really a keyboard I use a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard designed specifically for tablets. It has all the keys, is made to be taken and has a convenient foot to place your tablet in which your tablet with a little imagination like a real laptop.

And then there are the apps. Finding a similar Android app for what you do on the desktop can be tricky (outside things like email, web browsing and instant messaging … that there are plenty). Fortunately, there are options. These are my favorite apps that help me out of the fire.

Writing: OfficeSuite Pro. This is the best generic text editor I could find. Quickoffice is also a good choice, but lacks many features that I use every day. This whole article I write.

Pro with Office Suite

Entertainment: Hulu and Netflix. Both work fine to view (though Hulu is only available in the U.S., ed.) Various TV series If I try to play that is stored locally, a file I use for that MX Player.

Usenet: NZB Leech +. This is a great Usenet binary client that supports all standard business problems (SSL, queues, automatic decompression, etc.). It also runs another great in the background, so you can do something different.

while downloading

Working with files: Astro File Manager, AndFTP. Astro is a great file manager which you just need to take to get used to it over time (it took a while for example, I realized that I had to sweep to open other locations from the left of the screen), but once you get it, it works the fantastic. The only weakness I could find was that the support for FTP servers is not ideal and works slowly. FTP is AndFTP lot better. It is small in size, ultra fast and works great for uploading and downloading files to servers.

Reading: Aldiko, Comic Rack. Aldiko is a good, customizable e-book reader which display mode is customizable and automatically apply a bookmark in several books. However ComicRack is better in the view of the best comic books and comic reader which can be found in the various application stores. It makes reading comics on my 7 inch tablet a pleasure.

Programming: AIDE, DroidEdit. AIDE is a good native app for Android to program or to work. With HTML5 If you prefer a pure text editor, then I DroidEdit to. It works with different themes, is really fast and supports working with multiple tabs.

other work I do on my tablet is working with multimedia, design and illustrate. This means among other things that I make audio and video podcasts and comics character. But the software for these tasks I would like to save for a later article.
