Apple would be a Dutch news app have declined because there is to find news about Android and Windows.

Tablet Guide states Tuesday that its Apple iOS app was rejected due to coverage of Apple’s competitors.

In an e-mail to developer Apple claims that the app is in breach of its guidelines, because “inappropriate or irrelevant platform information” state. “In particular, we still found references to Android and Windows,” wrote a reviewer from Apple.

Apple developer guidelines state that “Apps or metadata that mention the name of any other mobile platform will be rejected.” Nevertheless, the rejection notable because several other news sites that write about Android and Windows, including NU.nl, or apps in the App Store.

Developer Edwin van der Palen proposes Twitter apps that Apple claims are permitted, “because they write about cameras and TVs, not just about tablets.” Tablet Guide post just about tablets.

Van der Palen, the app was presented three times. Initially, there were references to Android and Windows in the “metadata” about the app, as in the description. In the second and third entry that was not the case, but the app was still denied.

iOS apps that write specifically about Android or Windows are scarce, although the French site Android et Vous be a separate iOS app. In 2010 an Android magazine was still banned by Apple because of the subject matter.

Netherlands Tuesday Apple was not available for comment. Apple usually gives in such cases no further explanation of the reasons for rejection.
