Body
The Galaxy S6 has a metal rim and glass front and back. That’s a big step from the plastic housing of the Galaxy S5. The new device also feels very solid and the finish is excellent. Samsung shows all materials seamlessly into each other.
The device has also been given a new design. From the front, it is still clearly a Samsung device, but the rounded metal edge is completely new. The buttons fall nicely away in the flat portion of the rim.
The edge and sleek glass back will make sure that the S6 which is smooth and fast out of hand slip. Which back is also prone to scratches than the plastic housing of last year

The fingerprint scanner is again incorporated into the home button, but now works a lot better and faster than the S5, and this year is a real addition. A disadvantage of the glass enclosure is that the battery can no longer be removed and there is no microSD slot is present. With standard 32 GB of storage Samsung solves that problem though already partly. The Galaxy S6 is not like the S5 waterproof
Screen
The 5.1 inch screen has a qHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The S5 also had a 5.1-inch screen, but with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The higher resolution provides more pixels per inch, but with the naked eye, this difference is not visible. The display was and is sharp.
The screen quality is excellent. The brightness is extremely high and because Samsung choose an AMOLED screen, black is black and the contrast is almost infinite. This means that colors are bright and the screen splash

By default, select Samsung screen mode Adaptable . That means that what oversaturated colors are displayed and are brighter than they should be. Some people find that pretty, but the Basic position ensures natural colors. That position shows how good the screen is. Both bright colors like grays and white are displayed almost perfectly.
Cameras
The Galaxy S6 uses the same camera 16-megapixel sensor that was in the Galaxy Note 4 last year found. That’s not a shame as the Note 4 was one of the best smartphone cameras of 2014. In addition, Samsung adds this year what lichtgevoeligere sensor to f / 1.9 and a new image processor to.
Due to the sensitive sensor and optical beeldstabilisaties the camera takes better pictures in the dark, with beautiful colors are recorded . In daylight, the colors are very natural and you can see many details. The S6 also copes well with backlight

In almost all situations, the S6 as well or better from the bus when the iPhone 6, one of the best smartphone cameras of this moment. In general, the white display of the Galaxy S6 is correct slightly better than in many other devices.
By pressing twice on the home button starts the camera directly from any screen. Even when the screen is off. This ensures that you can quickly take a picture. The camera itself is very responsive and the camera app has been improved. There is less fuss present and selecting a different position considerably easier.

Part of smooth functioning is due to the simplified software. The Galaxy S6 runs on Android 5.0 with a new version of Touchwiz, Samsung’s own software layer.
There are fewer apps installed by default, almost all the apps that are installed or can be removed or hidden. In addition, there are far fewer pop-ups and alerts shown and the settings menu heavy taken in hand from 62 to 26 options

Despite the qHD screen, which requires more energy, and the more powerful processor Samsung has chosen the Galaxy S6 for a smaller battery than the Galaxy S5.
In practice, the S6 was after a day fairly intensive use always empty. Some competitors keep the day and a half full. Samsung has managed to make the chip so efficient that the difference is not too big so the battery life more than sufficient, but not remarkably well
