A new virus for Android has more than a million Google accounts hacked, allowing criminals to gain access to emails, photos and documents. The virus is aimed at smartphones and tablets with Android versions, Jelly Bean, kit kat and Lollipop, which run together on 74 percent of all Android devices.
It is unclear how many Dutch users between the hacked Google accounts sit. The majority of the infections with the virus, called Gooligan, takes place in Asia.

The Gooligan-virus will be hidden in apps that look legitimate, such as a game or chatapp. These infected apps are in most cases offered alternative appwinkels, which are popular because, among other things, paid apps for free can download.
