Users expensive Android devices switch to iPhones and iPads' – NU.nl

That predicts renowned research Friday in a comprehensive report on the PC, tablet and smartphone market for years to come.

In total, Gartner expects that this year nearly 2.5 billion devices sold will to become. Nearly two billion of them are mobile phones, with 236 million copies involves tablets and 306 million devices to desktops and laptops

Android

The mobile phone market in the coming years continue to grow and Gartner expects an increasing percentage of users who use more expensive Android products will switch to iPhones or iPads .

“Android manufacturers in the top of the market are struggling to differentiate themselves and add value,” said Roberta Cozza, research director at Gartner. “In addition, the Apple brand remains very strong and iPhones with bigger screens are good alternatives.”

Gartner furthermore predicts that the replacement cycle that started after the launch of the iPhone 6 in September 2014 and in 2015, just will continue. In the last three months of 2014, Apple sold a record 74.5 million iPhones.

Gartner does not specifically on Android brands. The prediction of the research goes against the general expectation of the Galaxy S6. Samsung will according to various messages to sell more copies of its flagship.



Lucrative

The mobile market in the coming years will remain the most lucrative although will stabilize the average price point according to Gartner. This year, sales of mobile phones should grow by 3.5 percent. The tablet market is growing, according to Gartner, by 4.3 percent and the PC market shrinks by 2.4 percent
