Android in February: this is happening this month – Android Planet

February promises to be a busy month to be in Android area. With the Mobile World Congress, where different manufacturers have their new devices present. This month, we expect to however, Android Wear 2.0 and more.

1. Mobile World Congress 2017: LG, Huawei, Sony and others deal

For the biggest event of this month, we have to almost wait a whole month. From the 27th of February in Barcelona the annual Mobile World Congress place, the largest smartphonebeurs in the world. Virtually all the major manufacturers grab the event on to their new devices for the coming months to present.

Several companies have been sending out invitations for their product presentations. So will the LG G6 on Sunday 26 February will be shown, the same day we may also get the Huawei P10. In addition, we expect five(!) new smartphones from Sony, and various new products of Lenovo, Alcatel, BlackBerry, and others.

What Samsung exactly is going to do is still unclear. In the past, the company presented new devices in the Galaxy S series at MWC. The Galaxy S8 is, however, not until march or april unveiled, as the company recently announced. We expect that Samsung still have a unveiling for MWC behind the hand, but supposedly it goes to something smaller dog, as the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

2. Finally: Android Wear 2.0

We have to wait a long time, but it seems that this month is finally the final version of Android Wear 2.0 will appear. Google announced the operating system update at the beginning of last year, but had the new software repeatedly postpone. After several Developer Previews seems to be the real release is near. Sources claim that Android Wear 2.0 on Thursday, February 9, official appears. The same day, the LG Watch Style and Watch Sports announced, the first smartwatch with its operating system.

Android Wear 2.0 should be a lot more independent and able to function. Virtually all Android Wear devices that are now available require that your smartphone is near. Is that not the case, then working apps not, you have no music and dropping your connections away. The new version brings standalone apps specifically for smartphones. So you can, for example, your smartwatch to take while running your motion to follow, without that you need to make for a bulky smartphone.

3. Samsung introduces updated Galaxy A-series

February brings not only smartphones that until later this year in the shops. It is also the month in which earlier announced smartphones their release. The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) and A5 (2017) from the beginning of February are available. The A3 (2017) has a suggested retail price of 329 euros for the A5 (2017), you pay 429 euros.

The Galaxy A-series consists of cheaper smartphones with stylish enclosures and especially the latter is the manufacturer this year works well. Both devices have a design that is very reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S7. However, they are considerably cheaper than the flagship of the Korean manufacturer.
