This is why the Nexus 6 Android 7.1-update delayed – Android Planet

Google recently published the final version of Android 7.1 Nougat free for different devices. Owners of the Nexus 6 are, however, still waiting; now we know why.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the Motorola Nexus 6 is at the beginning of January available, so Google has tonight confirmed against Android Police. The update appeared a few weeks ago for other smartphones, including the Nexus 6P. The delay is according to Google, by a last-minute bug with the Nexus 6, so there is still some extra work needed to be done. The bug is fixed now, making the Nexus 6 Android 7.1 update immediately in the new year will be available.

Nexus 6 Android 7.1 update

It is probably one of the last major updates for the Motorola Nexus 6. The device appeared at the end of 2014 and is now over two years old. Typically, the Nexus smartphones, at most, two to three years supported by Google. Thus, it seems unlikely that Nexus 6 users to update to next versions of Android can expect.

Android 7.1 was released in november for the Google Pixel, and Pixel XL. The new version of Android introduced under other app shortcuts. So you have direct shortcuts to prominent features within an app. The shortcuts open you by an icon on your homescreen longer hold. Also, there is added support for keyboards with a gif feature. As you can animated pictures search and add to your messages from your keyboard.

These functions had their scoop on Google’s Pixel smartphone. In december they were also rolled out for other smartphones, in the form of Android 7.1.1. This update is available for several Nexus devices. It is still unknown when the other manufacturers the update to roll out for their devices.
