Android malware increased sixfold in a quarter - Personal Computer Magazine

Research by the security Child Sight Security Labs found that the amount of malware for Android sixfold in the last quarter. Android also aims beyond Windows in the percentage of infected devices that OS connected to mobile networks.

Child Sight Security Labs has in the past quarter, six times that seen malware created to infect than in the previous quarter. Android devices Smartphones and tablets running Android are increasingly being attacked. The study of Child Sight is a clear sign that the number of malware still is exploding on the Android platform. Some of the malware is immune to Google’s security Bouncer on Google Play does its job.

Earlier it was even warned of a huge rise in malware for Android by antivirus company McAfee. Would also malware getting smarter and sophisticated. Earlier it was found that even though there are twice as many infections were observed than in 2011, but in 2012 that could still be partly attributed to the fact that more and more Android devices in circulation.

Windows reports

Android, according to Child Sight Windows Security Labs even surpassed in the presence of malware on mobile networks. 0.52 percent of the devices connected to a mobile network contains malware. Now 55 percent of them an Android device and 45 percent a Windows device. Windows devices, for example, connected to a cellular network via tethering or MiFi router. Early this year, the percentages are reversed. Android and Windows are by far most affected by malware it. BlackBerry and iOS have only one percent of that pie claimed.
