The iPhone and Android apps TomTom will soon have a totally new look. TomTom has recently introduced a new user interface on the new TomTom GO navigation series. It is the default view for all future TomTom products, including iPhone and Android apps. That has Heiko Schilling, vice president of TomTom Navigation Engine confirmed.
The iOS and Android apps get with the next major update same functions and int erface card as the mobile navigation units (PNDs). It is still unknown when the updates become available. It will be used for loyal users of TomTom, which at least ten years are familiar with the current map interface.
website Pocket Navigation already cast a first look at the Android version of the new TomTom app and found that everything runs smoothly. There are new 3D images of city centers and attractions. For TomTom Traffic you still do an in-app purchase, its price will not change. Recently we discussed on iPhoneclub 5 more navigation apps for the holidays. TomTom came out of the bus as a reliable partner, but Sygic yielded a lower price about the same functionality and was therefore winner.
Below is a selection of the images with the new map interface. Of course we are wondering: is this an improvement? Or are loyal TomTom users tend to by this new look to move?
