Google CEO calls Android safer than iOS, is ridiculed by public - One More Thing

Google’s Eric Schmidt was this week’s guest for a dialogue at a conference of Gartner. Usually have a big shot at such conferences little criticism to expect, but it took for Schmidt different. Not his interlocutor but the audience made it the Google CEO pretty hard.

Gartner analyst David Willis loved Google’s Chairman and former CEO that Android users in not known as a particularly secure platform. In response, he was told that the opposite is true. “Android is safer than iPhone ,” said Schmidt. Before Willis a spicy follow-up question could ask on here made the audience already chopped Schmidt’s comment. With derision he was reminded that according to the most recent figures, almost 80% of all malware for mobile platforms is distributed through Android, iOS vs. 0.7% which is responsible for.

Willis gave Schmidt the opportunity to substantiate with facts his claim. That happened with the message that Android has more than a billion users and built to last for years to go. Therefore, according to Schmidt extensively tested for safety.

At the end of the 45-minute conversation Willis summarized the discussion as follows: “I have heard mainly that Android is more secure than the iPhone.”. Schmidt seemed to moderate his tone now what to do and responded with: “Android is very safe.” Even this remark worked on the funny bone of the audience. In a final attempt to win over the public Schmidt promised: “You will be from Gmail, Chrome and Android happier than you can imagine.”, But unfortunately this he got a laugh out of his hand, even though there is laughed at his bouncer.
