U.S. tech site AnandTech was investigating the phenomenon, after mid-2013 already noticed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 uses higher clock speeds during benchmarks, than during normal use.

Now it appears that not only Samsung but also optimize HTC, Asus and LG their phones, making the CPU or the GPU behave differently during test applications. An example is the clock speed of the CPU or GPU, which is above the usual maximum convenience during benchmarks.

addition, it may be that the phone recognizes the start of a benchmark and direct the CPU at full speed spins. Normally, however, the CPU is in a type of sleep mode, until it detects that there is more processing power is needed.

This moment takes time and avoid performing smartphones sometimes up to 10 percent better in test applications. The number and type of benchmark that will be affected, varies by manufacturer. Google’s Nexus 4, Nexus 7 as well as the Samsung Galaxy S4 for sale in Google’s Play Store, not cheat.

Samsung denied earlier still it sjoemelt with the test results.
