One of the major changes in the Google Play Android L-design is the new color palette. The colors are lighter and fresher eyes this what the operating system provides a much more attractive appearance. Also unnecessary icons removed, as the Google Play icon in the action bar, one is clearly indicated where the menu is available.

Each section within Google Play now has its own color, which overflows into the submenu of Google Play. The colors are mostly the same: apps and games are still green, movies and TV color is still pink and books is still blue. This applies to all sections. But the new Google Play Android L-design looks fresher and more accessible than ever before.

Also, some sections within Google Play adapted as overview screens for example the design of a playlist Play Music. Google also has a series of improvements to the app animations, making navigating through Google Play more natural. These animations are also part of Material Design.

When

It is likely that the new Google Play along with Android L is launched. Then also the new icons (see top image) for the various app stores available. The latest rumors talk about a release in September, but we expect the beginning to the middle of October – so around the introduction of the new Nexus.
