Philips announces new ultra high-definition TVs with Android to – NU.nl

In techbeurs IFA in Berlin, Philips presented in collaboration with screen maker TP Vision his first ultra high-definition TV with Android.

The Philips 9100 is an ultra high-definition TV with Android, available in 55 and 65 inch . The Philips 7900 has an ultra-HD resolution and is available in 49 and 55 inch format. Both TVs have Ambilight, in the case of the 9100 is that four-sided, with the 7900 bilateral.

In addition, Philips has announced its first curved TV. The 55-inch ultra HD TV also uses Android and has a three-sided Ambilight.

The TVs use a custom version of Android by Philips, not announced earlier this year by Google Android TV. All three announced models have a twin tuner simultaneously watching TV for and recording a program on another channel.

Philips says the Android support also bet on games that directly to the TV can be played. Players can make use of a 3D glasses. This allows two players to simultaneously view the entire screen, without having seen each other for progress
