This is after four years of my last piece for Android Planet. And what I enjoyed the last time!
In 2012 I joined as chief editor for Android Planet. At least, if you can call it this way: I was the only employee. When Android Planet was still owned by iculture, but the focus was logically on iPhones and iPads. After a year I got from the current publisher BigSpark the offer to come and work there, where they would take over the site. Finally there was room to make something beautiful out of Android Planet.
The acquisition was made two and a half years ago, after the team was gradually expanded to include some permanent employees and several freelancers. The first year I worked very hard to professionalize Android Planet, with a focus on objective news, high-quality reviews and commentary in the form of background articles and columns.
Android Planet grew from a fanblog one a professional news editor for Android – and that within a few years. That is largely due to the appointment of Gijs, a small year ago has taken over the baton from me. The website is really in good hands, and I am very proud of.
From left to right: Roel, Heini, Daniel, Peter, Rutger, Gijs and Anne
I want next Gijs like Peter (editor) Otto (former publisher) and Roel (marketing) to thank for three great years. The team that is now going to huge pop. And I’m gonna do the same thing, only at RTL. There I go from 1 December to work as a technology journalist. I continue to follow throughdanielverlaan but check above for all your Android Planet Android news. That I continue to do.
