Android is plagued by malware “Ghost Push” WINMAG Pro

The well-known malware “Ghost Push” is a two-year-old trojan, but lingers still a lot of Android users. So, eighty percent of all the smartphones that are now on the operating system running can be infected by the malware.

A study of securitybedrijf Cheetah Mobile has shown that there is in all the app installations per day one percent malware is found. One of the best known and most popular of these is the trojan Ghost Push. Although this malware is already two years is ravaging the still the Android user. So, eighty percent of all Android smartphones are susceptible to infection of this malware.

All of the phones that run on Android Lollipop or older are susceptible to the Ghost Push. Until now, the malware has surfaced in the latest versions, Marshmallow and Nougat. The malware spreads mainly through fake links and app downloads that via other platforms than the Google Play Store take place. Among other well-known apps like Wi-fi Enhancer, MXplayer and Amazon are often infected.

Update to Marshmallow or Nougat

Ghost Push is able to send unsolicited new apps to install it on your device. The malware is also enormously difficult to remove because it self-so-called 'root' access. Cheetah Mobile advises Android users upgrade to Marshmallow or Nougat, if this is possible. Click any strange links and ads and only download apps from the Google Play Store.
