Android is still solid in Europe – GSM Helpdesk – GSM Helpdesk Netherlands

In the UK recorded Android and iOS both growth. The iPhone SE remained the best-selling smartphone. In Germany was Android eight of every ten sold are smartphones, with Samsung the largest supplier appeared, with a market share of 46 percent, and 3.6 percentage points less than a year ago. The Samsung Galaxy S7 was the best selling smartphone in Germany, followed by the lower-priced Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3.

Kantar reports that the combined sales of Samsung and Apple is good for 60 percent of all sold smartphones in the US, the UK and Germany. The rest is divided among brands or slipping (Sony, Motorola) or rise (Huawei, Alcatel). Kantar expects the US and the UK, with a shift towards cheaper models some models are already at the 800 dollar cost.

the Less good news was for Android in the United States. There, the decline in the market share of Google’s mobile operating system with 1.7 percentage points to 65,2 percent of total sales, while Apple's iOS by 2.9 percentage points took for a market share of 30.9 percent. Android had in the US mostly suffer from lower sales of the three largest brands in the region, namely Samsung, LG and Motorola.
