BlackBerry brings big October update for its Android-apps – DroidApp (Blog)

BlackBerry is well known for their Android apps and regularly have an update, and sometimes with new features and necessary bug-fixes. October is no exception, because BlackBerry has updates released for the BlackBerry apps.

The apps that this month an update will be received under other Hub+, Camera, and the BlackBerry Keyboard. Calls BlackBerry this updates their “Halloween treat” for the BlackBerry users and not just a 'little something'.

Hub+ update

BlackBerry brought Hub+ in August of this year for Android. After the in september an update is received, it is now time for the second update. Hub+ is no more or less than a subscriptieservice for Android devices running on Android Marshmallow (6.x), and Android Lollipop (5.x). Under this subscription fall BlackBerry Hub, Calendar, Password Keeper, Contacts, Device Search, Notes, and the BlackBerry Launcher. The purpose of Hub+, besides the users of the PRIVATE and DTEK50 also all the other Android users all the benefits of their innovations in the field of security.

The software version of October for the BlackBerry PRIVATE and DTEK50 also contained all updates for the camera and the keyboard. As always, it falls below the necessary bug fixes and performance improvements. We have all the improvements of the October update, summarized:

BlackBerry Hub+

In October, for the first time, possible for Facebook Messenger to link to Hub+. Also has Hub+ is now a smart feature added for images in a mail, that you now many times easier can store. As the last is for the IT administrators a possibility to for Android for Work associated devices, a signature.

BlackBerry Keyboard

as of now there are multiple possibilities to make it easier and therefore faster language switching. You can select a specific key or the space bar set to toggle between languages. In addition, there is now the option to swypen to delete words, this only works if your types by means of swypen. Finally, you can now set the words that the keyboard will learn typing, now separated from your personal dictionary when you are in your work environment.

BlackBerry Launcher

As you after the update looks at the icon of your calendar app, you will see that this displays the current date, something we also recently have seen with the new Pixel Launcher. If you have the BlackBerry Launcher on a different phone than the PRIVATE or DTEK50 you will the icon of the launcher in your app drawer to see, this helps you switch between launchers, and with the updates for this app.

BlackBerry Password Keeper

From now on it is possible to have different lists, like todo lists to be kept private in Password Keeper. In addition, the settings can be adjusted so that it is easier to use. Something in my opinion for a long time in Password Keeper should have is fingerprint support, it is now something later but it is finally in the Password Keeper. This function obviously works only if your phone has a finger print scanner.

And then the other; smaller updates

They have the BlackBerry Camera app optimized for faster photos to be able to make. Furthermore, there are behind-the-scenes of the application, some improvements and optimizations implemented for a better user experience. Also for other apps, such as Tasks, Notes and Contacts, there are several fixes and performance improvements. Specific notification-related problems with the update also fixed.

Download

Just as with all other updates of the apps in Android these will take place via Google Play. The updates are now rolled out via the Google Play Store. These are to be found here.
