An error in the operating system of all Android devices make the hackers very easy to strike. Only an update may offer protection against the so-called Dirty Cow. Owners of older devices have a bigger problem.
Dirty Cow is discovered in the Linux operating system, which Android-phones – like HTC, Motorola, Samsung and LG, are based, and worldwide 90 percent of all websites run. The error will lie dormant for nine years, but only now has come to light. Servers or Android-phones are therefore extremely vulnerable to hackers. Hackers can by Dirty Cow your Android phone completely. The biggest problem of Dirty Cow is not the danger itself, but the time that it is all wrong – nine years. The leak is therefore distributed worldwide in millions of devices, computers and servers.
