Android 5.0: flash factory images manually Nexus devices – Android World

Google today started the update to Android 5.0 for Nexus different devices. This also includes the so-called factory images that can be installed with some more work manually.

Factory images

The update will be distributed by Google as an OTA (over the air) update. That is, an update package is being circulated. The update package can be quite easily also installed manually, but is not yet available. At the time of writing, It is possible to manually flash the factory images (factory images).

If you have already flashed the preview version of Android L or the recent preview version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, you will not received update to the official version of Android 5.0, and you need to upgrade using the available factory images. It seems that this can not be reset without the device. We have tried without, but this caused problems with the home button and the notification screen.

Currently, the images are available for the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (in 2012 and 2013, no LTE yet) and Nexus 10.
