Android market share seems to have reached highest point – NieuweMobiel.NL

The mobile operating system Android had in the third quarter of 2014, a market share of 84%. Absolutely leader so but a decrease from 85% in the previous quarter. Has Android reached its peak?

The decline could be attributed to the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Apple has thus gained slightly compared to Android. Google does itself with a market share of 84% worry not really make. That’s because the absolute sales were up from 206 million to 268 million sets.

 Android market share Q3 2014

Of concern is the decline in Windows Phone. It works but not Microsoft to get a significant market share. Not even after the incorporation of Nokia. The market share of BlackBerry went down, but that might be less of a surprise. Google also has its own concerns, and especially manufacturers who run off with a so-called fork of Android. These are then not use Google services such as the Play Store and Google Maps. Still, this share went down from 39 to 37% so that Google gets more control over the Android Market
