Buzz Feed reports based on anonymous sources that a so-called ‘native’ fingerprint authentication on Android M will be processed.
This means that a single open standard is that all Android -apps can then make use of it. The fingerprint set on the Android device can easily be used in all applications that support this method of authentication.
Now it is already so that manufacturers themselves can handle fingerprint scanners in Android devices, but because the operating system from themselves this way of logging does not support, there are few apps that use the scanners for example, in the Galaxy S6.
The new version of Android is likely next week at Google I / O revealed. The developer conference starts on Thursday, May 28th with a keynote at 18:30 Dutch time. NU.nl will provide live coverage of this event
