Twitters livestream app Periscope released for Android – NU.nl

This was reported by the same company behind the app, which earlier this year was acquired by Twitter.

The Android app is downloadable since late Tuesday afternoon Dutch time. Periscope had since the end of March already available for iOS.

The Android version includes several new features that are not found in the app for iOS, including a resume function.

Allows users a live stream which they have interrupted, for example because they were called, simply resume. Periscope puts a message will appear in the notification list of Android.

Also, the options for receiving notifications about new livestreams expanded. The Android app users can choose when they want to receive or not notice. Examples can be set that they only receive a notification when a monitored user first starts a live stream.

Android app Periscope requires version 4.4 or higher.
