News – Android developers that their apps to Windows 10 to porting, but work on Linux, will have to divert temporarily to a Mac or a (virtual) Windows environment.
Android developers can have their MOT’s pretty easy porting to Windows 10, in their own environment, its own operating system and in their own IDE where devs at work. This is somewhat surprising, because one of the cornerstones of Microsoft’s Project Astoria ‘is correct that the developer is made as easy as possible for them apps to port. So no code changes, no new IDE and no split contracts; ADB also supported with standard commands.
Developers do not necessarily have to pry into their code. The SDK allows Google APIs replace those of Microsoft and platform-specific features (such as Live Tiles) are added.

But Android developers who are accustomed to a Linux machine, will not be directly porting apps to Windows 10 via the standard method that Microsoft offers.
However, the APK can be submitted via Windows Dev Center, after analyzing what needs to be changed in the code. Developers can then make manual adjustments to the code (by Product Flavors Android Studio) and changes Dev Center to take over.
