Let’s start with the bad news: when installing Android M on your Nexus device, you must reset your device. It is technically possible to install Android M without resetting, but we have tried this for you and came to the conclusion that essential functions such as the Home key (!) And quick settings or not working. This was already the case with the Android-L preview.
Download and install Android M-preview
Step 1: Get the Android M preview for your device and extract the compressed file from:

Step 2 Make sure you Fastboot and ADB have installed on your computer
Step 3. Make sure ADB debugging is enabled. That is done by the institutions to “Developer options” and then proceed to turn the “USB debugging” option. Make sure also that the “OEM release is enabled. See “Developer options” are not, go to ‘About your phone / tablet and press 8 times the build number
Step 4. Start the phone or tablet in bootloader mode. You do that by (enter at Windows “cmd” in Start – & gt; Run) a terminal command “adb reboot bootloader” typing
Step 5 .: In a terminal to the folder where you unzipped the downloaded file. Then enter the following command (on Windows): With flash all.bat (on OS X or Linux): ./flash-all.sh.
Stap 6 : Watch patiently. The flash takes time and your phone will start at least once again while flashing. Then take booting your device quite long. All application data and installed apps are cleared.

There are two preview versions of Android M before the final version is launched. Presumably it when installing a next preview version again necessary to reset the device. The Android L preview this was also the case with the transfer to the official Android Lollipop release.
