Android consists largely of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), the open source version of Android. This version can be used by manufacturers to make. Example their own skin or even Android version According to research firm ABI Research turned in the second quarter of this year, 20 percent of all Android smartphones on an AOSP version, as of Xiaomi MIUI OS or Fire from Amazon. The 20 percent is a fairly large percentage of what Google logically not very happy with it, as many AOSP software does not use standard Google services like Google Play, Gmail or Google Maps. This is Google earnings miss.

AOSP figures
But are those numbers really that impressive? It’s worth it because there is room for nuance in OASP figures from ABI Research. Thus, the research does not distinguish between AOSP versions with and without Google services. Which is strange, because there are many AOSP versions that do use Google services. Take CyanogenMod, which runs on millions of devices. Here are the Google services not included – that should not Google, because Google is not an official CyanogenMod release is – but the vast majority of users install CyanogenMod logically called the Google apps. Or choose the Google apps they want to install, such as Gmail, Google Maps and Google Play. You have a choice, for example, do not install. Google+
In addition, there are plenty of manufacturers who supply a AOSP ROM with Google apps like OnePlus, Oppo and Wolfgang line of Aldi. Most manufacturers that are very cheap Android smartphones fabricate, install simply an AOSP version of Google’s apps. All these handsets are also seen by ABI Research as AOSP devices, so the percentage is probably much higher.
The problem is Google so bad, is that the Internet giant’s market share in emerging markets to lose by cheaper brands with an AOSP version without Google services. And Android One has to change in the coming years will bring.read more
