“Next Android version is called Lemon Meringue Pie ‘- Tablets Magazine

Google has every version of Android so far given the name of a dessert or candy. We have gone from cupcakes to KitKat interspersed with names like Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean. The next version of Android we know so far only under a code name; Android L.

L is of course the logical successor to K in the alphabet, and so we had to get dessert whose name starts with an L. The deal with Nestle there apparently and therefore were non- commercial names within the possibilities. Android Lion had perhaps the eternal Google copying Apple rekindled debate again …

According to U.S. Android Police is the next version of Android called Lemon Meringue Pie. This base them on various references to ‘ LMP in the code of the Android SDK. And apparently there are no other goodies that fit within that abbreviation.

Personally, I’m not a fan of this name, but I can hardly spell. But everything went and if Google really go for Lemon Meringue Pie then runs the course probably loose. But for now it seems to me a little bit about a gimmick that is extended too far. Especially now in the Android geeks L and the corresponding Material Design already enjoys some reputation I do not see why and how Lemon Meringue Pie is a better name. I foresee more of a constant reference to Android LMP in future articles here and elsewhere.

The name is perhaps stupid, the cake itself looks delicious off. I’m going tomorrow to find a recipe …

UPDATE: I remember just last year for a time it was thought that Android Key Lime Pie the next version would be, because references with the abbreviation KLP. Android KLP has finally named KitKat worn so in this case it still seems possible that there is another new name is chosen. Android Lolly. Lange Jan Lolly Lime Pie.
