Microsoft Office is now available for Android smartphones – TechTastic

 Office Android In January, Microsoft launched a preview of the Office suite for Android and since Tuesday, May 24th is the official product available. The company introduced the familiar Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications designed specifically for Android smartphones, after the earlier Office already released for Android tablets, iOS, OS X, and of course Windows.

The Office apps offer usual functionality, so you can view and edit files, PowerPoint presentations, you can start from your Android phone and you can quickly access documents at any location, including services such as Google Drive, Dropbox or Box. The Office apps require a smartphone with 1GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat or later and replace the old Office Mobile apps, support for Android M is nonetheless not exist.

The Office apps for Android are free to use, but a number of additional features is an Office 365 membership required. In the future, the apps will be available on the standard devices of 30 manufacturers, including Samsung, LG, Sony and others. Many of these devices will later this year in sales

According to Microsoft Office preview version for Android on more than 1,900 different phones installed in 83 different countries.
