UTRECHT – Cell phones are becoming more sophisticated. The use of the mobile phone is associated with exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF). To make a good estimate of the amount of EMF which the population is exposed we need good information about usage patterns of the mobile phone.
In order to gather this information at IRAS app XMobiSense developed. XMobiSense is an application for Android smartphones that the amount of phone calls, messages, data usage and how the phone registers held. XMobiSense is part of the larger European Geronimo study, which the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS) , an inter-research institute of the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Medicine of Utrecht University participates.
Participants wanted
IRAs in the Netherlands is looking for volunteers who want to install XMobiSense for at least four weeks on their phone. Participation is completely anonymous and no personal information or conversations recorded.
