A number of ex-Google employees have created Jide, the company behind Remix OS. This operating system is based on Android, but has the looks of ChromeOS.

Remix OS 2.0 is suitable to run on x86 systems, creating a major market is open. It was previously possible to use Android on PC’s, but it was never very successful. With the customized user interface Remix OS 2.0 this could be about to change. A big advantage of Android running on a laptop, is that there are many apps available from the Play Store. As a result, there are many applications to use on this version of Android for the PC.
Remix OS 2.0 is currently based on Android Lollipop, but will be updated in the near future to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Availability
Remix OS 2.0 for the PC would be from mid-January 2016 must be available. Installation is via a USB key, where “ USB legacy boot option ‘is required on the relevant PC.
