The Chinese Akyumen has unveiled a new smartphone; the Holofone. This device has a screen diagonal of up to 7 inches, and thus can rightly be called a ‘phablet’. However, it is particularly special by the presence of two different operating systems, Android ‘Lollipop’ and the desktop version of Windows 10. It also includes a built-in projector.
The 7-inch screen has a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The built-in projector is able to conjure 1280 by 720 pixels out, he offers 35 lumens and can project up to a maximum of 100 inches diagonal. Under the hood lies an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 quad-core processor from the Cherry Trail generation. This chip is combined with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage memory, the latter amount may possibly be further expanded via a memory card.
In addition to the projector at the rear, is a 13-megapixel camera, the front is adorned with a 5-megapixel front-facing one. The smartphone also offers support for 4G LTE connectivity and is powered by a battery with a capacity of 2910 mAh.
The Akyumen Holofone is currently pre-order available in white / silver and black / silver at a cost of 750 USD. In addition, packages are available with various accessories such as a Bluetooth speaker, game controller and battery stand for an amount up to 950 USD.
