Antivirus Company Cheetah Mobile warns of a mobile trojan named Hummer, which at its peak 1.4 million Android smartphones infected every day.
Meanwhile, the number of infections is somewhat decreased, but still regards the tens of thousands of successful attacks per day. Hummer strikes worldwide, but the Netherlands is fortunately not in the top 25 countries. The virus is mainly in India, but has also found its way to, inter alia, German Android users.
Hummer does not just via the App Store, but just by installing apps from unknown sources. Victims have more to do with annoying advertisements and pop-ups. In addition, downloaded all sorts of malicious apps in the background and installed, including porn apps.
