The new feature was discovered by WABetaInfo a new beta of WhatsApp recently became available for Android. To use this additional layer of security, users must enter their email address and then create a six-digit code to encrypt the app.
The code you have to remember yourself, though you can also access your account if you reset the code using the specified address. Two-step Authentication makes your WhatsApp account to crack a lot harder. Judging by the screenshots, it appears to be an optional feature. You can choose so whether you WhatsApp two step authentication or not going to use.
Since this is merely screenshots from a beta, it is difficult to estimate whether and when it can get to work with this new feature. These are regularly added new features, some of which show still months away. WhatsApp recently have added end-to-end encryption to the app, so your chats are better protected. Two-step Authentication is another nice way to WhatsApp to make a lot safer
