Google has a compatibiliteitsdocument drawn up to ensure that the many different Android devices are largely compatible with each other and with Android apps. This document is updated with new requirements for notifications.
Manufacturers have to comply with the so-called “Compatibility Definition Document” to the Android Compatibility Test Suite. This is a package with tests that go through should be to have official access to the Google Play Store.
The latest version of the compatibiliteitsdocument is focused on notifications for devices with Android 7.1. This means that each android device, and from now on the same way notifications have to handle. It doesn’t matter from which manufacturer the device is, or what shell is used. For notifications should be a clear directive to be followed.
With the advent of Android 7.0 is the component notifications changed a lot, not only in appearance but also in terms of possibilities. So is the stacking of notifications made possible. Developers can bring their app so that multiple notifications are bundled will be shown to the user. Nougat also introduced the option to respond from the notifications to messages or other notifications. As soon as the developers have added, you need an app so no more open to a message to send.
These two options are now in the compatibiliteitsdocument made compulsory for all devices running on Android 7.1 to run. For Samsung TouchWiz is the grouping of messages is nothing new, this was already possible. But now other manufacturers have this option in their shell should handle.
Android 7.0 Nougat has the menu with the quick settings also expanded. There is more space for the ’tiles’ quick settings. There can can be by means of swiping through the different tiles of scrolling, by dragging, they can be rearranged. Users can now also change the settings to show something what we know from other manufacturers. For the manufacturers of these tiles with quick settings still not use, is the time for this yet to add.
