LG has announced how much (critical) security vulnerabilities to the Android security update from January (2017) close. Normally, Google that, but LG is the Android-maker now for. The update also includes eight fixes specially for LG smartphones.
Android security update January
The blog post has been published on LG’s veiligheidswebsite and explains that the Android security update from 1 January 2017, a total of 81 vulnerabilities in the Android operating system close. Of those fixes, there are 73 from Google, and designed for all Android devices. Details are not given; Google only makes known what the identifiers are and how critical the fix is. The January update contains seven very critical fixes, followed by mainly critical and normal fixes and one low-priority fix.
LG deletes doubtful MTKLogger-app
LG adds 8 fixes, specially for its own mobile devices. The company tells (thankfully) a bit more about the how and why, and indicates that there is one critical fix is present. Which is intended for smartphones and tablets with Android 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x and a MediaTek processor, and removes the MTKLogger app. The app would be unsolicited personal information is saved to the internal memory and can be started by external applications without your consent. MTKLogger seems to be coming from MediaTek, but the real developer is unknown and the usefulness of the app also. LG is pointing him at least the door, but it is unknown whether other smartphonefabrikanten that also are going to do. The MTKLogger app is available on smartphones and tablets from Alcatel, Xiaomi and Huawei.
