Google will let users with multiple Android devices internet connection sharing – Tweakers

Google has the tetheringfunctionaliteit in Android, and thereby the easier it should be to share the internet connection. It is thereby possible to automatically set the connection to share between devices that are logged in to the same Google account.

The new functionality seems to slowly be rolled out and is not yet available to everyone, reports Android Police. It seems that Google is the extension for tethering introduced with version 10.2 of Google Play Services, but, so far, only Nexus and Pixel-devices access. Moreover, these devices are equipped with Android version 7.1.1.

Users that the so-called Instant Tethering turn on in the settings having to do anything to their internet connection sharing with other devices, on condition that the same Google account is logged in. When one of the devices loses its internet connection a message will appear with the question whether there is a connection must be made via a different device.

Google has the internetdeeldienst not grandly announced, and therefore it is still guessing when the functionality becomes widely available. Android Police thinks that Google is busy with a test, and that it is therefore as yet to a small roll-out.
