HP introduces Windows and Android convertibles - NU.nl

HP announced Wednesday two new convertibles. The Split x2 is a Windows tablet that can also function as the Slate Book x2 laptop runs on Android.

Both devices (photos) are defined by HP as a laptop with a removable screen that functions as a separate tablet. The Split x2 and x2 Slate on Facebook are the second and third convertible in the U.S. computer company that previously released the Envy x2 Windows hybrid.

The new Split x2 runs just as predecessor to Windows 8. Unlike Envy x2 the device does not have a weaker tablet chip, but a laptop processor. Customers will be able to choose between Intel Core i3 or i5 processors.


13-inch screen

laptop / tablet hybrid features a 13-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. In this screen, so loose that serves as a tablet, a battery and SSD are processed. The keyboard has room for an extra battery and an optional hard disk of 500 GB.

Split x2 also has two USB ports (one USB 3.0), HDMI, Beats Audio, WiDi (wireless transmission of images and sound via a special receiver) and connectors for microSD and SD cards.

Slate Book x2

Book x2 Slate runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and features a removable tablet screen of 10.1 inches. This IPS screen has a higher resolution than the smaller screen of the Split x2: 1920 by 1200 pixels.

the Slate Book x2, which is a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 is processor, batteries are built into the screen and the keyboard. This keyboard features a laptop-like trackpad. The Android convertible has a weight of 1.27 pounds.


August

two convertibles come in the course of August out in the United States. The Split x2 has a starting price of $ 800, while the Slate Book x2 costs $ 480. When and for what price the devices come to the Netherlands, is not yet known.
