.

the rationale for the decision is certainly not Microsoft want to discourage developers to make their apps compatible with Windows. Microsoft, however, that there are plenty of tools are available to do so. There comes the plug from Project Astoria, which was announced at the BUILD developer conference in April last year.

Xamarin takes over the role

There were already rumors that the project was short-lived. Microsoft made the decision yesterday officially announced. The announcement comes a day after Microsoft Xaramin took over. That company makes development tool that allows developers to design applications which they can then easily write native code for different platforms.

Microsoft also has a ‘Bridge’ technology which is designed to legacy apps to easily accommodate the latest version of the operating system. This can also iOS and Android apps to be adjusted. Microsoft said yesterday in a blog will not need two bridge technologies have together because it causes nothing but confusion.
