This is the same emoji already added Apple in October to iOS 9.1. WhatsApp uses its Android app always emoji with the appearance of iOS, not Android.
The new offering includes the middle finger, Star Trek greeting, taco, upside down smiley, robot smiley with rolling eyes.
A total of 184 new characters that can be used in messages. Google added the new emoji to Android already in December 2015, but it only to Android 6.0.1. The Android emoji have a different design than the emoji using WhatsApp.
