Android and iOS have almost the entire smartphone market in the hands. A new study shows that the operating systems together held a market share of 99,7 percent.

That it appears from the figures of Strategy Analytics. According to the analistenbureaustaat to 87.5 percent Googles Android installed, while iOS is 12.1 percent. A big difference, however, easy to explain. Apple releases every year but one or two new smartphones, while every month, dozens of Android phone, from all sorts of manufacturers will appear.

According to Strategy Analytics, the market share of Android 84,1 percent, increasing to 87.5 percent, while the share of iOS last quarter to 13.6 percent. Other operating systems like BlackBerry OS, and Windows 10 Mobile, however, dropped drastically, and together for just 0.3 percent of all smartphones.

also, would there in the past kwartal 375,4 million devices shipped, while this last year 354,2 million smartphones were. This makes for a growth of 6 percent. This is 328,6 million shipped Android phones, 45.5 million iPhones and 1.3 million other devices.

Android has not yet been so dominated in the mobile market, though, the operating system has a major drawback. Because there are so many smartphones being released, not every consumer on the latest Android version.
