Android is dominating the world of smartphones, according to new research. The vast majority of all sold devices running on the mobile operating system from Google. Good news for the Android market share by 2016.
Android market share 2016 grows
In the past quarter were Android to find on 87.5 percent of all sold smartphones, according to research from Strategy Analytics. This keeps Google ahead of the competition: Apple is number two, with a market share of 12.1 percent. Windows, BlackBerry OS, Tizen and other mobile operating systems to make hardly an impact. This would, according to the study are good for just 0.3 percent.

In total there are in the third quarter of this year 375,4 million smartphones sold, according to the researchers. That is a growth of 6 percent compared to the same period last year, when there 354,2 million smartphones to be sold. That growth is largely due to the popularity of Android in emerging countries. In China and Africa, where the percentage of web is relatively low, consumers are almost predominantly for devices with Android.
Apple and Microsoft should take
fact: Android has never been so much dominated the mobile market. In the same period last year was Android good for 'only' 84,1 of all handsets sold. Both iOS and other operating systems in the past year declined, while Android only took.
At this stage, it seems like Android is virtually no opponents to have more. Large companies like Microsoft seem to have no impact on the mobile market, while new options such as Tizen is not or hardly be used. Google is its own biggest competitor, brands the researchers. The number of manufacturers that makes a profit with Android devices is small, and by the proliferation of devices, consumers are not always provided with the latest software.
