‘Android 5.1 released in March’ – Android Planet

Android 5.1, a relatively minor update to Google’s mobile operating system, will be rolled out next month. That says Mo Versi, vice president of product management at HTC.

The Android One devices are the first Android 5.1 features.

Versi responded on Twitter to a question from a user’s Google Play edition of the HTC One M7. This device suffers from a bug related to the illumination of the buttons; something that is solved according Versi with a maintenance update of Android in March. Based on previous posts seem a release of the Android 5.1 update next month too obvious.

The new Android version is still named Lollipop and will not be as drastic as Android 5.0, which among more new design brought smarter notifications and more rapid settings. Android 5.1 focuses on repairing bugs introduced 5.0.

For a long time it was unclear exactly what we could expect the Android 5.1 update. The latest reports indicate that at least return the silent mode in Lollipop. This was in Android 5.0 replaced by a system of notifications, priority messages and no reports, but said they were not all users equally convenient. The update also makes Android more stable and efficient with the memory.
