Android One coming to the Philippines, with Android 5.1 – Android World

With the Android One project seeks Google quality budget phones in developing countries to boost and thus to ensure that many more people have access to modern smartphones.

One project determines the Android Google in collaboration with various hardware manufacturers approved hardware and minimum requirements for budget devices. By setting a limit, Google wants to make sure that the first experience with cheap Android phones from people in emerging markets, as well as possible. In addition, Google may immediately bind new users to its apps and platform, users much of which previously had no access.

Google is responsible for software updates from Android One devices. The providers that sell the devices, may leave their own apps, but those apps are by removing the use. Because the provider some software updates does not really tussenzit, updates can be released more quickly.

Today, Google announced to expand the Android One program to the Philippines. There are two aircraft delivered, the Cherry One and the MyPhone Uno. There is collaboration with providers to make available special data plans for phones so that the devices can be used optimally. Doing so would include updates for the devices and downloading apps should be cheaper.

Android 5.1

The interesting thing is that Google has it in his blog post about the “fastest and most responsive ‘Android version to date. Thereby calls Caesar Sengupta Google some features of Android 5.0 Lollipop, such as the battery saving mode and the new Material Design. However, it appears that the new Android One devices running Android 5.1, not yet announced a new version of Android Lollipop.

Earlier this month we saw a mention of Android 5.1 to Android One project. Also, several Nexus devices spotted running Android 5.1, but Google still has not made any official announcement. What exactly is in Android 5.1 is not yet known. We know at least that the quick settings are expanded, so you can choose for example directly to another Wi-Fi network from the quick settings.

We also know that Android 5.0 is still not as smooth as would aim are of this new version Android. This is partly due to a large memory leak that Google already has closed, but still no update issued for. It appears that Android 5.1 will include improvements for devices with less memory. According to rumors also the classic silent mode to be returned.

When the update for Nexus devices and other Android devices appears, is not yet known.
