Android Wear 1.4 shows how to operate smart watch with the wrist – Tweakers

Android Wear 1,4 has support for mobile networks. So you can exercise and let your heart rate constantly measure and synchronize the data with the cloud. Then you can look back into the data via a web app or an app on a smartphone.

But then you have to be a smart watch that have a SIM card can. In Moto 360 2nd gen can not. The net new LG Watch Urbane 2nd gen does this have (first). Plus GPS is also built in, you can then run / cycle and synchronize everything to the cloud without having to take your phone with you.

The Sony SmartWatch 3 also has built-in GPS, and you can thrips also track offline. And if you later have to synchronize a WiFi connection. So it does not offer a lot of advantages. But you can make a bike trip with Maps online data is collected without your phone to take with you.

Android Wear smart watches anyway can also connect to Wi-Fi. My Huawei Watch in any case, and the LG Watch Urbane and Moto 360 II according to me, too.
