A manager of Facebook wants its employees dump their iPhone and now use an Android smartphone. The reason? In most emerging economies – where they now also increasingly using the Internet – Android is by far the most popular operating system for smartphones
This message De Telegraaf.. The Dutch newspaper relies on reports from the US Wired Magazine.
Chief Product Officer Chris Cox, Facebook has nothing against Apple. Yet the people have to change, so Cox told the press during a meeting. “If it is up to the people themselves, they prefer to use an iPhone. But my whole team must now make the switch. So they can report bugs and have the same user experience as the most Facebook users themselves. “
In most Western countries, the iPhone is the most popular smartphone, but in emerging economies is different. Not surprising, of course, as there are quite a few Android phones that you can buy for a relatively low price; a price that people in developing countries – or ‘emerging economies’ – or able to pay, in contrast to the fairly expensive iPhone. That applies particularly to India, one of the fastest emerging economies in the world where more and more people use smartphones and the internet in general.
According to Cox, it is imperative that its own employees use Android phones so that they share the experience of ordinary users
Question:. Do you use an iPhone or an Android phone? And denotes preferably mobile on Facebook or on a desktop computer (or laptop)?
