Firefox OS
The smartphone world consists not only from Android and iOS, even though they are the largest players in the market. For example, there are Windows Phone, but there’s Firefox OS Mozilla. Developers of the OS now have to download a separate installer put online, making your Firefox OS: 2.5 can experience on an Android device.
The file in question is approximately 90MB in size and can be downloaded via this website. The software pretends to be a somewhat launcher, which makes it possible to run on Android, but offers much more. This allows you to make use of, among other things, the Firefox Marketplace, wherein various plug-ins can be downloaded as well as the browser (which also is already downloading via the Play Store) use one of the possibilities. A bookmark on one homescreen places leads to so-called “web apps.”
The homescreens are in the style of Firefox OS, but “under the hood” there have also been some adjustments, such as the quick settings menu, but the app-drawer shown whether certain settings menus are again those of standard Android. Although this ‘app’ called Firefox OS, this is obviously not a full operating system, but you can already feel somewhat how the fully fledged OS will work on a smartphone. The operating system is flashing on some Android devices, for which you require further information please look.
