Google announced that it is in Russia appealed against this decision of the Russian competition watchdog FAZ, this organization has previously determined that Google now has to offer apart the Google Play Store to Android manufacturers without the other apps. Google offers this app only in a bundle with a dozen apps.
Google has chosen to create an open source operating system Android and anyone can use at their discretion. However, manufacturers want to use the Google Play Store so that the user of the device also becomes available to all apps that are found in it, the device must be licensed by Google. This means that manufacturers across the Google suite of apps need to install, including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, etc. Furthermore, manufacturers must be at least 18 months, the devices provide software updates, and so there are some requirements.
The Russian competition watchdog FAZ has previously decided that this competition and that Google may not make these demands. Google has until December 18 had the time to ensure that manufacturers may use Android with only the Google Play Store. Google is opposed to it and will appeal to the Russian court.
The aim of the FAZ is that competing services also get a chance to Android, which mainly refers to the Russian search engine Yandex. Yandex would like to close deals with manufacturers that they flour springs of Yandex apps on their phones instead of Google’s. Yandex also has complained to the European Commission and the EU is currently conducting a preliminary investigation to determine if Google in Europe should also be forced, only the Google Play Store to deliver them.
Google believes that the already provides sufficient choice by offering open source Android. Manufacturers can already choose for it to apply its own Android implementation. They can also use alternative app stores. Or appeal in Russia sense is difficult to estimate, for the Russians, however, depends as much, if Google loses the case it would pull may also decide to return to the Russian market.
