Facebook head of security worries about Android – Android Planet

Alex Stamos, chief security of Facebook, is worried about the safety of cheap Android handsets. The devices are, according to him open to all kinds of attacks.

In his role as head of security Facebook is Alex Stamos responsible for protecting billions of users from attacks. What works the hardest makes mobile phones and in particular Android devices

“Android is very successful,” said Stamos told CNN. “But there are hundreds of millions of Android devices that will never be patched” with weaknesses that are “very easy to drop his.” These attacks can obtain personal information, such as Facebook accounts. That information can help hackers to commit identity fraud.

The security officer expressed his concern on Web Summit, an Irish tech conference. Opposite CNN Stamos stated that it particularly cheap smartphones are hundreds of millions of people worldwide are vulnerable to attack.
